A workshop for choral leaders was organised recently by Child’s Play India Foundation, led by noted choral conductor from Sweden, Marie Bejstam. The workshop had 23 participants from all over Goa. The workshop covered the basic knowledge of anatomic and physiologic changes in growing children through adolescence to adulthood with regard to the singing apparatus and how it affects vocal training and selection of repertoire; it also focused on warming up and group intonation and harmonisation exercises, visual cues when conducting and rehearsing, and leadership issues among other topics.
